Readers?

Did you guys do anything different when you asked the people to do a reading at your wedding?
I am asking my aunt but I dont know if I should 'ask' or like make up a cutsey card thing?
What did you do?

We haven't asked them, yet, and probably won't until it gets much closer... I plan to just ask them, not do anything special.

I've read in a few weddings, and I've only ever just been asked. (Same for when I was a BM, though I did little photo albums for my girls)

We asked one of our readers over dinner one night on vacation- they are like my second parents and they were very touched!! I was going to ask my god mother to do another reading but she has had her 2 hips replaced in the past year and a half. I was over at her house and she asked who was going to do my readings and I said 'well I was going to wait until closer to the wedding to ask you' and she said 'oh I was talking to Karen [her daughter] and I told her that if you asked, I would say no'. She is too uncomfortable with her hips, but I haven't given up hope yet! I plan on asking again in the spring.

We are also asking FH's cousin to do the prayer of the faithful, but he hasn't asked yet! I don't know what he is waiting for.
