Readers at Ceremony

Readers at Ceremony

Someone suggested to me that I have my mother and my FH's father be our readers during the ceremony b/c everything else (walking down aisle, dancing) is with my father and his mother.

So they said it's nice to have the other parent feel special, and have them be the readers.

Not to mention one can read it in English and one can read it in Italian.....

Is that a good or bad idea?

Who else do you usually choose? People close to you?

we are having my 2 brothers and the Best Man do the readings. I think my parents would be too nervous to do it. But I think thats a reeally nice idea though

i think that's a nice idea. as long as they want to read. my mom didnt want to. lol.

plus we decided to pick ppl not in our bridal party - like a good friend and our goddparents to honor them that way

I am having a friend do a reading, my cousin is doing one & my sister is doing the other.

Thats a good idea to have your mom & his dad do a reading.

Re: Readers at Ceremony

definately ask them. another way to include them, that doesnt involve public speaking, is to have them participate in the unity candle ceremony (if you are doing it)

we are having the moms light each taper and then pass it to us.

but you could do this with the dad/mom combo you mentioned.

I love the idea! In fact, I might ask my mom if she'd be willing!

I think thats a wonderful idea.

FH & I decided we are going to have my SIL's husband (my brother passed away and she remarried a few yrs ago) do 1 reading. I love this man w/all my heart and he has been so wonderful and kind to our family and most importantly treated my brother's son as if he were his own child that we felt he NEEDED to be part of the wedding some how.

The other 2 readings are up to FH.....I told him I'm tired of making decisions
I believe he is going to pick his Godmother and Godfather.

We had an aunt (actually ex-aunt because aunt and uncle were divorced and uncle was the blood relative) do our reading.

I think the English/Italian thing is PERFECT!! What a way to include everyone. I say go for it!
