Is it normal for a father or father-in-law to do a reading at your wedding? I have never seen it done?

my mother did one at my bro and SIL's wedding....i think its whom you would like to read, i dont think therte are rules to follow

My FIL was a reader..... In my brother and sisters weddings, my family members had their chance to do readings, so for my wedding I picked DH's family and also a friend to do the readings.
