Readers & Gift bringer uppers

I already asked people to do the reading at my wedding. Do I need to ask people to bring up the gifts also? If so, who do you think would be good to do that? I thought maybe grandparents.

We had our godparents bring up the gifts and our aunts do the readings.

2 of DH's sisters did our readings. His 2 other sisters and my 2 cousins brought up the gifts.

Just out of curiosity...I'm Jewish, but I've been to a few non-Jewish weddings too--I get the readers' thing, but I've never seen 'gift bringeruppers.' What is that all about?

Those are the people that bring the gifts (bread, wine, etc.) to the priest to be prepared for Communion.

Yes you need to ask people to be readers as well as the ones who bring up the gifts - so there's no confusion.

Our readers were our sisters (mine and his)

And we had our mothers bring up the gifts

We are asking one of my aunts and one of his aunts to do the readings at the ceremony and are asking two other aunts to bring up the gifts. You should ask whomever you want.

FH sisters are not in the wedding party, so this is how we are making them feel a part of the wedding. His sister and sister in law are doing readings, and his other two sisters will bring up the gifts. :)

We had my mom, brother (he wasn't in the BP) and FH's god parents. We didn't necessarily want my mom to do it, but she made sucha big stink that it was easier to just appease her then argue.
