Readings appropriate for kids?

Readings appropriate for kids?

My 13 year old cousin is going to do a reading at my wedding and I'm having a hard time figuring out which it should be. I thought Corinthians but aunt thinks it's not appropriate- that someone that young wouldn't know enough about love and it would seem weird. Not sure if I agree.

I could have her do a selection from the Velveteen Rabbit that I like, but I think it really needs the right delivery to fly. Thought I'd have a radio buddy do that.

Suggestions?

Hmm, I understand what your aunt is saying about it coming across as strange, but it also might be really sweet coming from a young person.

Give your cousin the reading and let her go over it a few times. Then ask her to tell you in her own words what it means, give her some time to answer you. If she's mature enough to understand love then she'll give you an intellectual answer, but if she just shrugs and says 'I dunno' then you might want to find something else.

Good luck!!
