Ready to Walk...

Ready to Walk...

I love the work I do (not the pay) ... it's something I've always wanted to do .. but I've reaching the point of walking out .. because a$$hole immediate supervisor is just too abusive of power .. which ends up dumping too much responsibility on me (without compensation or recognition).

I've made it clear to higher-ups I'm not happy about the on-going situation. But yet nothing changes. A$$hole keeps doing practically nothing all day (except computer games) and I bust my tail into depression.

What now???

i had the SAME exact sitation at my OLD job. i left as soon as i could. i took a big pay cut, but seriously, it was worth every penny (the quality of life makes up for that 10 times over)

good luck with your decision!! but i would defiantely start considering other options... its not fair to you to have to spend such a major amount of your time feeling like that

Thanks!

It just kills me that I would even think of letting a piece of sh!t get me to walk away from my dream .. but staying is at least a weekly torture .. often times a daily torture.

if the job has gotten that bad, then I would definitely start looking for a new job. Its totally unfair, but the longer you let them treat you that way, the more they are going to do it.

It's only one person. If that person were not 'supervisor' .. or were a person I did not have to deal with at all .. there is NO WAY I would ever consider leaving.

If you love what you do, start looking for a job doing it somewhere else. I'm sure you could work elsewhere doing something similar, no?

Good luck!

Things like that can really be a blessing in disguise. I am currently looking into not only job options, but career options. I want to leave the business world althogether now!

DH was in a similar situation a few years ago. He loved his job but his immediate boss stood in the way of his career advancement and was making his daily routine miserable. He ultimately left for another job which in the end turned out to be worse. He left that place and now is in a position he loves with a supportive boss and mentor.

Unfortunately sometimes the only time people wake up is when enough people walk. If it looks like this supervisor isn't going anywhere anytime soon, I would start looking for another job. You can still do whatever it is you love to do, just find a healthier environment to do so!

good luck!
