real ballet slippers?

So I know that many stores have been carrying ballet slipper type shoes but I was looking on line and found that real ballet slippers are really inexpensive and should be comfy right?

has anyone worn/purchased real ballet slippers vs. steve madden type, which would you recommend?

TIA.

I love the real ones, much more comfy!
Try Capezio's they make a shoe that is 'street worthy' and won't get runied so fast.

Thanks.

I was looking at their website, is the 'street worthy' one something other than their standard shoe?

Ha, No. Other companies produce real ballet slippers but they literally mean 'real' and you can't wear them out. The main difference with the real and Steve Madden types is the soles. SM types are meant to be worn all the time.... real ones not soo much.

I always get the regular Capazios and because they are inexpensive you can get 2 pairs and enjoy them. Just check the soles on their site and make sure it's not cloth on the bottom.... I'm trying to finnd a pic once i do i'll post for you....

If you're talking about real ballet slippers that ballet dancers wear (not the pointe shoes, the flat leather shoes) then I would not recommend them.

The hard bottom soles do not cover your toes - the sole goes from your heel to the base where your toes begin - and it is uncomfortable to walk around in them. I did ballet for 11 years and always found that my soft slippers were uncomfortable to walk around in.
