Really need your help

I am really stressed / upset and I don’t know what to do.
I have 4 BM and 1 MOH. I knew all along that I could have up to 3 of my girls being pregnant for the wedding – I am 150% fine with this and even tried to find dresses that could fit over a belly.

Well, I just found out that one of my BM is due 3 weeks before the wedding, this is her first child. Never in a million years did I think anyone would have the baby before the wedding. She says that she will be able to be involved in everything and will and I quote “ either leave the baby in CT at her in-laws, or in the hotel with her hubby”. I don’t know if she will physically be able to do everything for the wedding –get her dress fitted after giving birth… rehearsal the night before, wedding is on a Friday. Hair, Makeup, Photos, Ceremony, Reception… the whole 9 yards.

I am getting married at the rh and the hotel we have rooms blocked at is at least 15 mins away. I am not having any kids at the wedding.

We are ordering the dresses this weekend and my parents are paying for all of the dresses.

What should I do? Do you think she will be fine? Do you think I should say I don’t think she will be able to participate in all so why not do a special reading at the ceremony – that way she will have a lot more time on Friday to spend with her newborn?

does she plan on having a c section or natural? You may want to suggest to her getting a maternity dress bc she may still look pregnant 3 weeks after!

i would give her the option to be a reader since she's obviously going to be preoccupied with her new baby ... i'd also ask how alterations would work

I would definitely give her the option as a reader. I am sure she doesn't want you to feel like she let you down but she seriously is not going to have the time to do everything. Newborns need CONSTANT attention and do not sleep!! After my first child it was a project to find the time to take a shower! HTH Good luck!!

ITA.

Give her the option, this way your not giving her the boot, and she may think this is the best thing for everyone, but feel badly about telling you.

I had the same situation. Its one of my sorority sisters and she was supposed to be in the wedding.

We had a long talk because she didnt want to let me down. In the end I told her it was OK with me if she felt she needed to back out. Her health was more important than anything.

SHE decided that there was no way she would be able to have a 4 week old and be in the weding. She didnt want to take away anything from me. The MAIN thing was breast feeding and time to tend the baby. She didnt want to be 'absemt' for 40 in during pictures because she HAD to nurse.

It brok my heart but I told her it was ok. I persoanlly would not have cared. But I made it ok for her to make the decision. I made sure she KNEW it was ok with me if she felt she could not do it. She also had 2 other kids and knew what it was going to be like with a newborn.

So I would say talk with her. See how she feels and where her brain is. Let her know you want her to be in the wedding but you want HER to come first. But be HONEST and tell her your concerns.

If she is a close enough friend, you can talk with her and tell her how you feel. See what her thinking is. If she still says yes, then I say let it be.

I personally didnt give a crap about the wedding. I cared that she knew I would be ok either way, and I wanted HER to be ok with any decision, because I WOULD truly be ok if she felt she couldnt.

So she will be there for me in 2 weeks, just not as a bridesmaid.

Hope this helps.
