Does anyone else have really noisy heat in their house? Our radiators make all sorts of hissing, popping, gurgling and whistling sounds. Some times its so loud it wakes me up. Our furnace is new and according to the service guys its top of the line. Anyone have any ideas???

Sound like you have air in the lines...call your heating guys adn tell them the heat makes loud noises when it comes up.

My dads was like that. Sorry no suggestions.. I live in a condo now and when they haven't cleared the water lines of air...it sounds like a fish tank.

Re: Really Noisy Heat
I wanted to move some of my basement heating pipes to a different location but I was told that if the pipes in your house are not angled properly, you get all the banging and the noisy heat sounds. So I think its more about how the pipes are laid rather than the quality of the furnance.
Im happy to see there is one thing in my house that was done properly. I think its the only thing

In the past when I have had that poblem it was due to air in the lines. The heating guys jus came over and they call it 'bleeding' the line.

You can bleed them yourself. There is a screw on the bottom of the radiator that you can loosen to let the air out. It will save you some money if you do it yourself.
