Really Silly Question

OK, so I am sending out my invites today and I know it is early, but the hotel has to be booked by April 18th so they have to go out now. I wanted to know what exactly hand cancelling is. I hear about it all the time on here but not sure what it actually is. LOL

Any help would be great for my silly question. It is still early and I am not totally up yet!

Instead of putting it through a machine they do it by hand. I think the machine can ruin certain invitations... like the ones with crystals and stuff on it. Most should be ok but if you have delicate or lots of things attached to your invitations then you might want to find out if they can do the hand cancelling for you just to be on the safe side.
