What is the difference between a couture dress and one that is not couture. I thought couture just meant that a designer created it...they're all designers!!

lol I don't think that is stupid or embarassing, I have no idea either!
someone correct me if i'm wrong (and i probably am!) but i vaugley recall hearing that in order to be considered 'couture', a garment needs to be 80% hand made.
But when i googled it, i couldn't find that. Actually, I looked at Wikipedia, got distracted by the cat, and stopped my research
hahahahah that's how much i know! i thought it was their less fancy collection!

i think it means - that it is made just for the person ordering it so you won't find it in a size 8 or whatever it is made to your exact measurements
i will NEVER experience this though
oh wait i am lying - i have PLENTY of couture stuff. . .my mom is a seamstress does that count?

its custom made to your body, and its all done by hand. Minimal is done by machines
Its definately way more expensive though.

It means that most of it is done by hand...in order for it to be considered couture 85% has to be handmade
