Reason for numbering response cards

Today I got:

Mr & Mrs will not be attending.

Thankfully I numbered them so I knew who it was.

So just as a reminder for all who soon will be sending out your response cards you might want to remember to number!

Where do you number them on the inside?

I forgot to do this and luckily no one was dense enough to leave it out.

I was going to put it on the back in a very light pencil, or if it's a folded card you can do it on the inside...but try not to make it too obvious.

My response cards are vellum, so I numbered the inside of the envelopes actually.

I numbered on the inside of the card.

As my mother said she remembers doing this for my uncles barmitzah so that was 40 something years ago so I guess it is typical of my family to be this dense!

I got one back...with no name and no response!!

it turns out that her family returned theirs...but she wanted to hold off to see if she could find a babysitter...but they mailed hers anyway...

I had forgotten to # them...but remembered before I sealed the envelopes...so slipped a pencil and numbered the return envelopes
