I wanted to know what is a reasonable price for a band.
I was told that a good band would be $800-$1000 per band member .
I am a budget bride and thats not in my budget.
Any advice?

How long do you want them to play? The whole night, just ceremony, just cocktail hour?

going rate for bands is around 6k that ive heard about at least! i too wanted a band but FH wanted a DJ so we compromised and are having a dj with live musicians .... more expensive than a DJ by themselves but cheaper than a band...

The Franklin Wayne bands are all about 6K.

I hear that 5-10K is usually the norm for a band...I didn't realize they were as pricey as they are either!

yup they are very pricey.... FH and i want a DJ so we aren't worrying about band prices.. but our friends just had a band and they paiud 6K

FH and I compromised and got a dj with live music too. Of course the band I really wanted was $11,000, which was way way out of our budget. Most of my friends paid between $6,000 -8,000, all the way up to $13,000.

WOW... Then no band it is...
Some of you mentioned adding live musicians with a DJ. What type of live musicians are you adding?
Are there any suggestions for the type of music/musician for the ceremony?

Ceremony - String Quarted Cocktail Hour - Jazz Trio Reception - Male Vocalist (including the dj & emcees)
Bravura also has an amazing steel drum band called Island Mystic. They play for cocktail hour.

Good Clean Fun is around 3k for a band. Im using Renegade and they are awesome.
