Is it possible to get my hair and makeup done at my house for under $300? That price just seems OUTRAGEOUS to me...
Am I being cheap?
Can you please share anyone you've found for less?

I got hair and M/U done for $100!!! No, you're not being cheap, you're being practical!!!
For M/U I used a Mary Kay rep, Theresa Wittman. She's located in Deer Park, I went to her for my (free) trial and she came to me for the day of. $50 for you alone, or $40 if you've got others getting done too.
For hair I used someone from the Lemon Tree in Patchogue. Her name is Tracy and she's a friend of my cousin so I only have her home #. She charged me $60 and I have long, thick hair.
FM me if you're interested in either!!

I'm so sure you can do it for less than $300! For me, I am spending $300 total for hair & makeup, but I was having trouble finding someone reputable and good who was still available on my date AND would travel to me in upper Manhattan. I contacted a few that were $250 or $300 for JUST makeup and that was too much. And everyone who was less was either booked or would only work out on LI.
Jacqueline Nicole does makeup for about $150 I believe.
Oksana and Jenn the Hair Genie are VERY reasonable (I think something like $100 for bridal makeup and not too much for hair). I would probably give them a call first. They have the best prices I have seen on LIW.

Re: Reasonable Hair and Makeup Pricing???
Oh, and you're not being cheap! Trust me, it HURTS to shell out this $$ for my hair and makeup for just one day, but in the end I know I am getting a great vendor, airbrush makeup and someone skilled in wedding day hairstyling (as opposed to doing my hair at my usual salon for a lot cheaper, but they don't really 'style' hair, just color, blowdry, etc etc).

Re: Reasonable Hair and Makeup Pricing???
i spent $150 on hair AND make-up and everyone said i looked great. i highly recommend Defusion in Rockville Centre on Merrick Rd. they did a FABULOUS job on EVERYONE! BM's were only $50.00 (although they did charge a $25.00 early opening fee because they had to open at 5 AM for us... the $50.00 was before the fee!)
