Reasonably priced photog recos, & questions to ask at first meeting?

Need to book photog ASAP. Just now setting up meetings. Can anyone tell me about a photographer they loved? I don't personally care for the super romantic, dramatic approach. I like photojournalistic combined w/ traditional.

Plus, any suggestions on key questions to ask in 1st meeting?

Thanks so much!!!

Try Duet - they're probably already booked, but worth a shot! you can go to duetwedding.com and get a ' quick quote' form them.

Hey! I absolutley love Lighthouse photography!!! Sending you a detailed FM. The quality of their pictures blew me away and the pricing was the icing on the cake He tailors to your vision regarding photography style and one of the reasons me and FH booked was exactly because he married the traditional and photojournalistic shots which captured both our styles!! Best of luck.

Suggestions for Questions:
1) How many hours are included in the packages? A good piggy back to this is, do you leave after the cake-cutting or will you stay until we leave?
2) What is rate for extra hours?
3) How soon after the wedding do we receive proofs?
4) Are proofs part of the package or do they cost extra? Are thye posted online or physically delivered?
5) Are portraits (8x10/11x14/16x20) included? Can our guests order prints?
6) Do you prefer to shoot in black and white or color? If you do a mix what's the typical breakdown and do we have a choice in the percentage?
7) What style of photography do you prefer and do you prefer to shoot film or digital? Do you use different lenses?
8) How much do additional prints cost?
9) Are you willing to do a shot list?
10) Do we own the rights to the photos or are they shared?
11) Will you bring in additional lighting?
12) What type of clothing will you be wearing?
13) Do you work with an assitant or is there an option to have an additional photographer?
14) What is the back-up plan incase of illness or unforseen situation?
15) How many weddings do you shoot per day?
16) Have you shot at my location before? If not, are you willing to do a site visit for ceremony and reception site before the wedding day? To piggy back of this, it is also good to ask if they have a list of reccomended locations for indoor/outdoor photos in addition to venue in case it is needed.
17) Are you insured?
18) How many pictures can I expect to see (frames)? What are my choices in albums? Are parent albums included?
19) Cancellation policy?
- Ask if you are eligible for any price breaks? i.e. higher deposit or cash payment may help negotiations; also ask if they provide video services (if this is something you're interested in) it may help reduce cost of overall package.
20) Deposit required and when is balance due? - FYI: Good note to have balance due after you recieve your proofs.

Hope this helps.

I swear by my photographer, sheis an up and coming photographer with an amazing talent. She came with me and my husband down to city hall and took awesome wedding photos and she will be doing our reception party this Saturday at Chatea La Mer. I included her flickr page and her website which is still under a lil construction for you to check out. But she is fabulous and really gave us one of a kind photos and her price was totally reasonable!

I would recommend Imagine Studios. I went to see about 6 photographers, called at least 20 (i am on a tight budget), and looked at a lot more online. Imagine had just the right mix for me between traditional and photo journalistic. Check them out.
