Receiving Checks for Engagement, BUT.....

Hi, how would you handle this? We've received 2 checks from family for our engagement, however, we are planning on having an engagement party in July.

I think at this point our moms are telling everyone this, but how do I handle the 2 checks we received. Both people we definitely want at the party, but I don't expect them to bring another 'gift'.

Should I say something in the thank you note? Should I have my mom mention it to them?

i'm sure they'll just get you a little something for the party..they aren't going to want to come empty handed. just make sure you send them a thank you and they'll take it from there..
