Receiving Line

Is the whole BP part of this or can it just be the bride and groom?

I think it's usually the bridal party and the parents?? That is what we've done for 2 of my sister's weddings.

i have been in a couple weddings and never stood in the receiving line. the bm stood outside the doors to the church and the parents and bride and groom stood on the line

i think traditionally i've seen it as the entire BP and parents. but IMO i think you can do whatever you want. personally i hate long receiving lines with the entire BP--especially if i'm at a wedding where i didn't know most of the BP, just the B&G and their parents. seemed pointless standing in front of the groom's sister, saying hi and shaking hands waiting to get to the B&G.

i say do what you want! chances are if you make the line just you and FH...people will truly appreciate that

You can do whatever you want. But the line will go quicker if it is just bride, groom, and parents. That is what we are doing.

We had us and our families and the BP was standing across from us.

I say its your wedding make it who ever you want it to be. we are doing the bridal party, both sets of parenents and maybe his grandparetns

I've always seen just bride & groom and family. I've been in a ton of weddings and bridesmaids always stand outside and wait for the receiving line to be done to take more pictures
