Receiving Line
How does this work if you're getting married at the RH and cocktail hour is immediately following the ceremony?

I think there are no rules..It depends on what you want to happen.. We aren't having a receiving line....We plan to take some pics and come back and mingle in the cocktail hr... When they call us in to the reception, we will do our dances and then go around to the tables when time allows... It just depends on what you want.... We are very informal people, so we aren't even doing the grand entrance thing etc...So I think whatever you decide will be fine.
ive never seen one done when the ceremony was at the RH... you should call them and ask them about it
We are not doing one .. we will just greet people at the CH and then make our way to the tables eventually
we got married at our RH and didn't have a receiving line. the guests were ushered into the cocktail hour right after the ceremony and we greeted people then and during the reception we went table to table to the ppl we missed during CH.
I imagine it would work pretty much the same as the church. Maybe you stand by the entrance to the CH room and greet guests as they arrive?
Hm, I'm going to ask about it because they're asking me if I'm going to have one! But we're taking our pictures in advance so we can attend cocktail hour with our guests so I'm thinking we don't need one.
i;d try to skip it. it takes up a LOT of time and causes traffic to backup into the ballroom.
We're getting married at the RH and getting pics taken before the ceremony but we aren't having a receiving line. We will walk to the tables during the reception.
