Did any one do a receiving line at the RH after their ceremony? FH and I are getting married at the RH and we were thinking of doing a receiving line. We don't want to spend every second 'meeting and greeting'. We are gonna schmooze a little at cocktail hour since we're taking majority of all our pics before the ceremony.
What do you think?

I think we're doing receiving line at RH too as our ceremony is there as well. Our cocktail hour starts immediately after the ceremony so I figured FH & I will just do the receiving line; nobody else. Hopefully, this will help it move along faster.

i dont know if the RH will let us do a receiving line after the ceremony but we aren't going to do one anyways, we want to get a few more pics in (most will be done before teh ceremony & then we'll meet everyone in the CH

you should ask your RH about that...they may not let you do one since they want guests to move to the CH area and a receiving line would delay this for awhile. i would consider schmoozing during the CH and maybe taking 20 min. during the reception to visit each table for a quick greeting. that's what we did. if you have a receiving line---ppl at the back of the line might not reach the CH for 20 min. or so---that's making them miss 1/3 of the CH!

We didn't do one either.
Our CH started immediately after our ceremony so everyone wanted to go eat!! Plus we didn't do pics before the ceremony so we had to do them during the CH and we didn't want to miss any of the reception.

We're planning to do one. Same as you we don't want to have to go to everyone during the reception and we are doing cocktail hour. My bridesmaids even suggested it, and I know how much they are not looking forward to that. :)

FH and i decided not to do a receiving line because i find them so boring. we would rather 'schmooze' during the CH.

we didn't mean too but it happend hahaha it went kinda quick... and it lead peopel right into the cocktail room.. .so it worked out great only time i saw a bunch of poeple too b/c i refused to go table to table...

Hmmmm...maybe I'll do a receiving line during the CH...I'll stand in front of my favorite station and stuff my face in between kisses and hellos.

i agree completely as well, you are missing the best part of the reception ( for you and your guests)
im also just not a big fan of the receieving line because i feel like people wait and its the same thing being said over and over for 20 minutes. at least if you did it during cocktail hour and at the begining of the reception, u control the pace and who you can see ( an avoid!) its a personal choice for you but definalty check on if the RH will let you do it too
