I am doing a receiving line at church...but was also thinking of doing one right after CH while ppl are walking into my main room. This way I can greet everyone, and not have to spend time table hopping. I'd add 30 minutes to my CH is order to achive this. What do you guys think?

Re: Receiving line question
We are getting married at the RH, so we aren't having a receiving line. After than the first time I want my guests to see me is when the DJ announces us, so we will probably table hop. I think its intimate and people really do like it cause they can take pics with you. JMO

Re: Receiving line question
I think 'table hopping' is the best way to make your guests feel like their presence is appreciated. The bride and groom taking their time with each table is something I always look for at weddings.

Re: Receiving line question
I am doing a receiving line at the church but I am also going to my Cocktail hour. Maybe not the whole time but I am hoping to say hello to a lot of pp there. I will probably also table hope around dinner so I don't lose any dancing time. I read someone's review that said they did not table hop and she regretted it. She felt bad she didn't get to spend much time with her guests. Taking the time to go to each table I feel is a little more personal then just a receiving line.

Re: Receiving line question
If you're already having one at the church why do another one? You can just go around and see people during the reception.

Re: Receiving line question
I plan on having over 22 tables (min of 220ppl)...and think that going table to table will eat up A LOT of time. Plus, my sister just got married and said that she missed a lot of ppl bc they werent at their table when she went over. This way I wont miss anyone. She also said that a lot of tables took a lot of time- they didnt want her to leave!! This scares me!
