Recent Revelations.....

Now that I'm at work full-time, it's very clear to me that some aspects of office culture are uncannily universal...

1. Every office has climate control issues - On one end of our rather large open plan office has their windows thrown open this blustery December day, and the other is bundled in scarves, hats and coats with space heaters thawing numb toes...I happen to be sitting in the freezing section for anyone who wants to know...my glass-like fingers threatening to shatter with every tap of the keyboard.

2. Every office has a hypochondriac suffering from various illnesses brought on by said climate control issues. - woman sitting across from me swears she can feel a sore throat coming on due to this morning's fridge-like conditions and ran to her bag to pop some paracetamol before anyone could say 'heat is coming on' - No tylenol, not aspirin, not advil, but paracetamol (I know it's pretty common, but it sounds soooo scandalous!). This woman also reportedly downs a cocktail of various medical wonderdrugs every morning which may or may not contain lithium and carries a handheld fan...

P.S. I am sittting beneath and Arctic blast so I have my scarf and gloves on... WORD on the Meat-Locker-like conditions.

I'm home today but I'm typically found peeking out from the tip of a scarf drawn tightly around my face to prevent frostbite while my co-workers to the far left try to convince management to allow desk fans...

It's ABSURD!

i have the same problems over here at my office too. As i sit at my desk in my robe and slippers.....
no really at work. i work for a sleepwear company and we all have 'our robes' for when it gets cold.
