How long is your reception, mine is only 4 hrs but I feel like I'm being gipped because some of my friends have 5 and 6hrs.

Re: Reception
My CH is from 7-8 and the reception itself is from 8-12. So we have the RH for 5 hours.

Re: Reception
mine is 4... but mine starts at 9 so it would be stupid for me to add an hour...we'd be done at 2am and everyone would probably be gone

Re: Reception
my ceremony is at 8-8:30pm CH 8:30-9:30pm and R 9:30-1:30am. The other places that I visited before I booked gave me 5hrs. I was told that I would have 5 at my place too but I just reviewed the contract and I realized that I'm missing an hr.

Re: Reception
My cocktail hour is one hour and my reception is 5 hours. It would have been 4 hours but we got the Viennese hour that adds an extra hour to the reception making it 5 hours.

Re: Reception
1 hr cocktail, 4 hr reception, 1 hr Viennese...
I really wanted a 6 hour reception because my family and friends will stay up all night partying. We had a 6 hour reception at my sister's wedding and then wound up going back to her place for an after party (her wedding ended at 10pm). My wedding will probably end around 11, but I'll probably still have an after party.
Do you have a place where you could continue the party in comfy clothes? If you do, it shouldn't matter how long your reception is because you can invite the people you really want back to hang out afterwords!
Also, it matters what time your wedding starts. A 4 hour reception is ideal for later start times, especially if there will be children there or if your guests have to work the next day.

Re: Reception
1 hour for CH and then 4 hours for reception... I think thats the norm, if you add the VH then it adds that extra hour
