Reception at same location.. can I still have a reception card w/ the invite??
Ok, here's the situation. My dad is remarried and my mom is not. My dad and step mom are paying for some of the wedding. I want to respect my parents and include all of their names on the invite. I also want to respect my dad and stepmom for helping out with the $$.
Our ceremony and reception are at the same place. I figured I would have all of them on the invite, but include a reception card stating that my dad and step mom invite everyone to the reception (since that's what they're basically paying for). However, I can't figure out how to word it since it's at the same place immediately following the ceremony and CH.
HELP!! TIA

having the extra card seems weird. theyre paying for it because they love you and not because they need to have it broadcast that it was them that paid. Maybe at the reception you can publically thank and toast them?

I included a reception card even though its at the same place as the ceremony... I just put something like 'please join us for a champagne reception after the cermeony, followed by dinner and dancing at 6:30...' something like that just so people know the plan. I don't think its necessary to put your paents names on it though.

IMO I don't think it is necessary to put another card in. You can put reception immediately following ceremony on invite this way people will know and you will save money

I am doing a seperate reception card to even out my pocket folds, even though I am getting married at the RH. I put on thr invites:
The honour of your presence id requested at the marriage of Ryan xxxxxx daughter of Mr and Mrs to Bill xxxxx son of.......
And then if you want you could word the reception card mrs and mrs so and so invite yout to continue the celebration immeciatley follwing for dancing and cocktails or something like that. I don't think you have to out your parents names on the reception card, but if you want to you should. Weddings are not cookie cutter, each one is different. We all have different situations and you should do what makes you happy and comfortable!

I think you can put the reception card in if you want to, but I definitely wouldn't put any parents' names on it.

I did, but only because I got two inserts with my pocketfolds.. one was the RSVP and I didn't know what to do with the other, so I made it a reception card. It read something like 'please join us for a formal reception immediately following the ceremony..' (this is where I put in the 'formal' so DHs relatives knew not to where khakis and polo shirts).

Thanks for the help ladies! I know it sounds weird to put my parents name on it, but it's kind of a pissing contest between my mom and dad. My dad doesn't even think her name should be on the wedding invite. So to be respectful of all of them, I figured this was the best way to do it.
Thanks!

Explain to your dad that the names on the invite are who is hosting it not just who is paying for it. My parents are paying for most of the wedding. Fh mom paid half the flowers and for the invites but I put them on the invitation because they are hosting it with my parents. Fh dad is not on the invite but he is invited as a guest only he is not helping to host it.

You can still have a reception card if your ceremony and reception are at the same place. We put the reception info on the RSVP card since we are having our ceremony and reception at the same place. It looks very nice and one less thing to order. I hope that I helped you out.
