Reception decor

I am having a hard time deciding on what color up lighting I should do for the reception hall and also what color linens. The reception hall comes with ivory chair covers and table linens. I was thinking of renting green or orange bows for the chairs. Our colors are green and orange. I don't want it to look like Halloween though. I want it to be sophisticated and elegant. If I do the room up lighting in orange, I don't know if that will be too much. Maybe we should have a softer color? I am so confused. Our theme is fall garden. Help!

i too am getting uplighting and basically i get to see the ballroom set up and can chose the color i want as they can easily switch it. they also said i can change through out the night so i might start with a dramatic color and then switch it to clear color while eating dinner and then back to a color for danicing.
can they give you a swatch of the green and orange so you can see how it will look on the chair. i'm visual so that is what i would do

i honestly think the ivory linens are fine and you shouldn't order the chair bows or anything if you do the uplighting and if your centerpeices are going to be your wedding colors... i think amber colored lighting would be really elegant and still be in the color palatte, it's like a gold type color but would really add a nice touch to the room. I've been to alot of weddings where it seemed like the wedding colors were a little overkill.. sometimes the little touches of color go a long way

my DJ said we can change the colors whenever we want though, so you can always change it around to your liking that day

Me too! I'm thinking clear/amber for dinner and then change to more fun colors during dancing.

My theme is summer rommance. My colors are going to be different shades of pink, gold and ivory with hints of green. you think if i do pink uplighting during dancing then a white during dinner will be too much?
