Reception ending at 10? Thoughts?

Reception ending at 10? Thoughts?

The venue I am in love with (Raphael winery) ends their events at 10 pm due to a sound ordinance that area.

other raphael brides? did it feel like it ended early to you? or people who attended weddings there?

is anyone else's reception ending early?

i feel like I love it enough to give on this, but we are a young couple so part of me wants to have a late party too!

argh! this RH process is getting me so frustrated!

Well, what about doing an after party?

WHat time does the wedding start?

i'm still shopping around for RHs, and we will be doing a catholic mass in a church. I think the cocktail hour starts at 4 or 5, so the ceremony would have to begin at 2 I would think (hour ceremony, pictures + travel time to the vineyard)

Raphael is an amazingly beautiful place!!
If I were you, I'd have no problem with it ending at 10! It's well worth it!

and an after party is a good idea! then the 'young people' could keep going.... I just don't want to wake up the next morning and feel like my wedding day was cut short.

i don't think 10's too early at all!! you could keep the fun going at your hotel! and it's sooo beautiful there, it'll be a great time no matter what time it ends.

yea 10 isnt terrible - we are ending ours by 6pm! ugh - id be happy with a few extra hours! But id let everyone know in advance you are going back to the hotel and do an afterparty there - it doesnt matter where you go - just who you are with.

do not think 10 too early. exact opposite- early enough to have an after party and persons may not be too tired to come

thanks everyone! that is so true about an afterparty. I feel much better. It will probably be on a sunday evening to save money.. so the earlier time may work out better for some people anyway.

I actually think 10 is a perfect time. Its ending pretty late but early enough to have a decent after party.

Maybe you can find a hotel near that has a bar in it.

Our wedding ended at 10 and we had people leave around 9:30-45 but this was a Sunday night. We also had an after party at a hotel and honestly we were DEAD by the time 12 hit. So don't fret too much. If its a saturday night - you can go to a local bar or back to the hotel.

I dont think there is anything wrong with it ending at 10, you can always put something together for an after party for those that want to keep the party going-we did this at 1 am and had about 70 people come

If you are doing a Sunday night wedding, I think 10pm is a perfect time to end. Because so many people will have work the next day, and 10pm isn't too late. And like everyone said, for whoever wants to keep hanging out afterwards - plan an after party!
