Reception extended an hour
Is anyone extending their reception an extra hour? FH and I are highly considering it. If you did, is it expensive??

We aren't, but I would think that price depends on the venue.

we're not- we were going to have cocktail hour at 6, then reception 7-11, but we felt that was too early for the wedding to end... we initially thought about extending an hour until midnight, but many friends and family members who are recently married advised us to just move cocktail hour to 7pm and reception 8-12 instead of paying for an extra hour.

I am considering it since my reception ends at 10pm, but it will cost an additional $10pp.

our reception ends at 11. we toyed with the idea of extending it an hour, but honestly, that's just another expense. instead, we are doing at afterparty at TVI's tavern directly following ... everyone who wants to join can come and hang out and it will be cash bar. then i can finally have some drinks.

Remember the DJ also has to be paid for the extra hour, unless you don't want any music. Also, coordinate with the limo company this way you don't have to pay any penalty fees with them either.

The dj is giving us the extra hour for free. Limos is someone we know so I don't see it being a problem.

We extended our reception a half hour at the time we booked. The BM offered it to us at no additional cost. I think we just got lucky that all of our vendors just agreed to do the extra half hour at no additional costs (photo, video, Band)

We are as well. FH and i both really wanted a Viennese hour which tacks an hour onto our 4-hr reception. It was approx $12 more per person but it's something we both thought was worth it.

I am thinking if doing it to add a Venetian hour. But I'm waiting to hear back on price.

I just booked with Stonebridge a lessings venue and they are having a special to extend cocktail hour for 30 min if you book before 2/28. So since I'm doing pictures during cocktail hr we can enjoy the last 30min if we finish our pictures in an hour.

they were charging 10 pp for the extra reception hr and 15 pp Viennese hr. So we ended up choosing viennese instead.

I extended my cocktail hour as well. I'm doing 5:30-7:00 and then 7:00-11:00 for my reception. They just threw it in, we didn't have to pay anything extra.

We are not primarily due to finances and time. There is a wedding after ours at the venue and they only have 1 hr in between both to set things up for the next party. We can't do it before because the ceremony is early.Goo Luck and enjoy.
