I'm planning on having my mom do the personal flowers for my wedding, but we need someone to do the centerpieces and the chuppah. Was anyone able to get nice reception flowers done for under $1000? Or am I dreaming? I'm not necessarily looking for all flower centerpieces and would like to find a way to mix it up a little with something, but they are going to have to be somewhat high, I think, and that leaves a lot of things out that I wanted to do.

my florst was superb. she works out of her home, so she's about to have lower prices than most. i had all my pew bows, centerpieces, bouquets, and boutennieres for about $1400. so i think she might be able to help you come close to what you want. FM me if you want her info.

if i remember girls posts.. the chuppah costs enough of its own... maybe $400?... i think you you can get 'low centerpieces', costing as low as $25 a piece depending on what you want in them...

Have you visited Burtons or Jack & Rose? They are really reasonable.
The only problem with the chuppah is that it requires someone to be up on a ladder in order to put it together (even just a small ladder). My mother used to be a florist, and the bottom line is insurance. She would have no problem making it, but we would have to see how we can do it without her having to be insured, and the reception place is not going to use their people to install or put up a chuppah that we make. They were very specific about outside vendors providing certificates of insurance and that they wouldn't allow their employees to do the work.

we got our recepetion flowers for $995 - the centerpieces and bouquets, boutenniers, corsages and decorating flowers all included....jack and rose

wowow...Pale bride...thats a GREAT price!!! I wanted to use Jack for our centerpieces..but our hall is owned by Milleridges..so our centerpieces come with our package. I didnt use Milleridge for everything else because they werent very nice to me over the phone..so I am using Jack for my Boks etc candleabras.

Wow, Palebride! That's awesome! Do you have any pics of your centerpieces? I'd love to know what they are giving you for that price. I don't need the personal flowers, as I said, but maybe I can get my chuppah instead. Also, how many centerpieces are you having? Thanks!
