Reception Hall Confusion

I am driving everybody crazy. I''''ve narrowed my selection down to THREE reception halls, but cannot decide on one. 1. Crescent Beach Club (I''''ve already given them a $1,000 deposit, but I''''m starting to think that the place is too expensive.) 2. Vineyard Caterers 3. The Riviera (in Massapequa) PLEASE HELP! Has anyone ever been to a wedding at any of these places?????? I have to let the Crescent Club know tomorrow!

Reception Hall Confusion

I visited CBC and the Rivera. The CBC was pretty pricey, and I wasn`t happy with the pushy manager, but I`ve heard others have had different experiences there. I was also told that if I wanted a wedding my size there (120 or so) in Oct, it would be ridiculously expensive, or in the winter, which I didn`t want. The Rivera was nice, but I thought the layout of the tables was odd - again, just my opinion. I didn`t want some guests are either end of the room to feel segregated from the rest of the party. (I`m sure you can change the layout depending on your guest list) The place was still a possibility, but then I visited my hall and feel in love with it! I know someone who got married at the Vineyard Caterers, and they were really happy with the place. Hope this helps!

Reception Hall Confusion

I am getting married at The Vineyard in November. They are so good with the planning. Very helpful and professional. I have heard nothing but good feedback from all who have been married or attended a wedding there.

Reception Hall Confusion

I have heard only amazing things about the Crescent!!! But yes it is extremely expensive!!! but... The Riveria is in totally different field. I have heard mixed things about The Riveria! As for the Vineyard caterers...i have heard that they do a good affair but isn't it really far away???

Vineyard

I've been to a wedding at the Vineyard last summer. It was lovely. The outside and the inside. They did a wonderful cocktail hour with ice sculptures, if I remember correctly. Very nice.

Riviera - CBC

I heard that the CBC is a very nice place and that they do a really nice job. The only thing is that they are very expensive. I was actually considering them when I was searching for my venue. I called up and they told me $165 per person for a Sat night in July. My FI and I were looking for a place on the water and his mother suggested we go look at the Riviera in Massapequa. We went there and loved it. We are having an outdoor wedding - weather permitting - July of 2002. I loved the layout of the Riviera. I also like the fact that there will only be one event going on at one time, mine and everyone can concentrate on it rather than running all around. The Riviera is very reasonably priced and the layout is very different. The outdoor Gazebo is beautiful as is the outdoor area for the cocktail hour. If you are getting married in the summer, spring or fall this place is great! Good luck!

CBC

I'm getting married at the CBC in September. The price was in the same range as other places we had seen. We do have a 225 person minimum. We picked out our menu last week. What I did like about them was the location (of course), the fact that the menu was all included, ie no 'buy-ups'. I know what you mean about the manager, but he's been great to deal with. Plus - we went to the restaurant and the food was outstanding. We haven't heard one bad thing yet. Good luck!

Reception Hall Confusion

Thanks to all of you for helping out! (I'm still confused, but you've all been very helpful.) To be honest, I think I'm just going to continue my search. Not like I haven't seen like 30 halls already ---- My fiance is going to kill me. ;-) Thanks again ---
