Hello ladies this is my first post here but i though it was time i got serious about this planning business. I live in florida but my fiancee's family is all from the nyc area so we've decided to have our wedding in long island. I was hoping you ladies could help me narrow down some reception halls so when i'm up visiting idon't have 50 places to visit. These are some important features for me: 1. I like high ceilings, chandaliers, windows everywhere and a nice view ie water 2. i'd like something more modern and airy 3. it need to be not too far from the city
i'm having about 150p and my budget is not quite set yet so i'm open....to an extent of course.
any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Jess, don't you forget, Queens is on LI..... you may be ghetto but I still luv ya! I don't know if i'd be saying that if you didn't bake as good a cupcake as you do!
lol you have no idea how many long islanders I've argued with on this topic! They consider queens LI, queens people do not consider themselves LI even though geographically the Long Islanders are technically correct. On top of that, I am from queens yet on a long island wedding website, I may not win this case. I knew those cupcakes would come in handy.
Also from queens and on LI site. But its true. Imagine if LI was to float away from the NY. us Queens girls would be going along too

Yes I am from queens and proud lol. And yes there are rundown parts but thats any neighborhood, you have your good and bad parts. There are some real nice parts of queens, like you said Malba, most of whitestone, forest hills and a few others. I grew up in astoria but live in kew gardens now, but i am always still in astoria and Fi is from astoria too

Its good because the area is becoming a better area to live in. However, when the time comes for FH and I to find a place. Astoria is WAY to expensive for us! yeah all the city people are moving to astoria because its so close to the city. Its a good thing and a bad thing
