RECEPTION HALL HELP!!

HELP!! lol

ok i need a very nice reception hall, but my budget is $10,000 for 150 people

I'd like the 5hr venue
liquor (ofcourse)
coctail hour
DJ

is that too much to ask for? lol we're in a recession here!

can anyone give some ideas of some nice places, and the cost per plate that you've encountered in the pass or something?

my church is in NYC so anything 20-30mins from NYC is ok with us

please help

i also noticed you said 5 hr - i don't know if you mean w/ the CH included because i haven't seen a place that does a 5 hour reception without you paying for the extra hour

I think you may be running a bit tight for 150 people. There are places that have all inclusives, basedon 100 ppl...DJ, pics, video, invites and hall with liquor etc, for $10K - $13K, but not 20 - 30 min. from the city. You may have to adjust the time.

Check out some of these places:
Douglaston Manor - Queens - has this special rate from late Nov - Feb only

Brentwood Country Club - one wedding at a time, and good food. May be worth the trip

Med Manor - way out in Patchogue, but in your budget

The Riviera in Massapequa

Gennaro's in Brooklyn

Possibly check out a Knight of Columbus... a nice one is Baron De Kalb in Sheepshead Bay Brooklyn.... another in Dyker Heights.

Coral House, Swan Club, Westbury Manor, Fox Hollow and Millridge Cottage may have great pricing from Nov. - Feb and check on Fri and Sun for even better pricing.

Also Try restaurants...

Re: RECEPTION HALL HELP!!

i have to honestly say that 'Gennaro's Caterers in Brooklyn' is definitely the kind of package i'm looking for.

But the squared looking ball room throws me off a bit.

I like the fact that they add the photo/video, limo, dj
lol thats a lot of free stuff that is needed on my limited budget

does anyone know any other reception halls that has the same style packages?

Re: RECEPTION HALL HELP!!

ok tell me what you guys think

$100pp for 160 people = $16,000 (taxes & gratuity included)

you get
1. 5hr event,
2. cocktail hr,
3. DJ,
5. floral center pieces for the table
5. videographer (9hr complete dressing, RH, church, limo etc))
6. photographer (9hr complete dressing, RH, church, limo etc))
7. one 10pass limo
8. bridal suite
9. wedding cake

and the places looks great, there was a party when we went there, and they do staff it right, and i got to see their vendors at work, they are pretty good

what do you guys think???

not sure if you made a final decision yet, but i have to rave about this catering hall. i had my sweet 16 there in 2000. i has actually the first party that they had in their hall. when i booked my party, they where still under construction. there where no walls & no kitchen. my mom was a nervous wreck, since my dad & i booked without knowing anything. since then we have my sisters sweet 16, cousins engagement party, my brothers wedding & countless other events there.

THE STERLING in Hicksville. They do packages which includes everything. I believe their website lists the packages and prices. They use Duval Photo and have in house florist.
