Re: Reception Hall help

considering Chateau La Mer...went to the tasting on Tuesday, food was pretty good, staff was really great. I have heard nothing but great things about CLM since I've been on this board. The only 'con' i have with CLM is that you can see the parking lot from the window and more importantly from the 'aisle' outside in front of the gazebo. I dont know if youre having your ceremony there or not. despite the parking lot its still our number 1 choice right now. The prices were amazing, best we have received so far.

If you don't mind me suggesting- try Land's End in Sayville it is really beautiful- but was out of our price range.

Also Riviera in Massapequa- the grounds were gorgeous, very very affordable, they give away tons of freebies- unfortunately they didnt have a date that worked for us.

Good Luck!

I thought the Swan Club was beautiful but I didn't care for their reception room. i think it was the Camelot... If you are having a mid-sized wedding, the Swan Club is the place to go but if you are having a large wedding...I would re-consider.

I LOVED Chateau La Mer but FH hated it. He thought the downstairs reception room looked old and outdated. I LOVED the ceiling though. Their prices were pretty good and its right on the water. I would check it out.

The Bridegeview Yacht Club....um..I didn't care for the lady who showed us around. And I thought the CH room wasn't nice. Their reception room is beautiful and has a great ceiling with draping. The pros of this place was that they had different linen colors that you could chose from....

Good Luck!!

I got married at the Swan Club and they have AMAZING gardens… but if you want someplace “on the water” I don’t know if it really counts. They have like a big pond there and it’s near the water…. but not really as much as some of these other places.

It’s still a great place though.

CLM all the way. The service is amazing, the food is great (from what i hear ) and it's right on the water. The prices are really good and overall I just love it. We were going to book at the Venetian but CLMs pricing was a little bit more in our range but Venetian is gorgeous as well. We dealt with Daisy and she was wonderful!

I just got married at Thatched Cottage. It was absolutely amazing and exceeded every expectation. Guests are still raving about the food.

However, it's a very different look from the other halls on your list. It's definitely more 'rustic' which is why I liked it.

The food and the french service are incredible. The staff was great and I can honestly say that I would do the whole thing over again.

Re: Reception Hall help

we booked CLM so I am kind of biased! lol
we looked at Venetian, and it was al little more than what we wanted to spend. FH didn't like the person we dealt with either...
I have been to weddings @ West Sayville CC - nice place, but set up a little weird.. i dont know if you will be cramped with 200 ppl... it was tight when i was there.
Flowerfield is GORGEOUS!!!!!!! I have been there before too... that's not on the water though right? (that was my biggest thing too.. has to be on the water! ) anyway.. flowerfield was gorgeous, but we didn't even look there bC my friend told me what she paid for the hall 6 years ago and it was out of our range. that was 6 years ago so i dont knwo what they are charging now. but definitely worth a look.

No offense to anyone, bu t I didn't want a typical wedding in a hall with predictability.

I have chosen Pavilion at Sunken Meadow.

I wanted a beach wedding but it can be difficult, especially in NY.

To me, this place is almost like a hidden gem. If you are okay with a more casual wedding, as I am, then this is the place for you.

The price is great, the location is better, the food is awesome and you can pretty much decorate and do as you please so you really can have your dream wedding.

Lombardis on the sound was our first choice until we saw Villa Lombardis. I wanted more of a reception hall. Lombardis on the Sound is a country club but you cannot beat the views!! I wasn't sure the reception room was big enough for us so we looked at Villa and I fell in love! If you have any more questions FM me,.
