Reception Hall Help

Hey everyone! So this is my first post and I need some help!

I currently live in South Florida but grew up on Long Island and would love to have my wedding there. This makes it difficult because of the cost of flying back and forth. I cam up this past weekend and my fiance and I looked at 6 places.

Here's our problem...we are only going to have about 40 people so we need a place that can do a minimum of 50 or less. Would like to pay no more than $55.00 pp.

One place stood out, Lombardi's on the Bay, only thing is that we would have to do a Saturday Day instead of Saturday night and would have to cut out the bar entirely for it to be in budget and have a cash bar. What do you guys think of this?

I am nervous that there aren't many other options as I emailed and called 50+ places that told us there minimum were anywhere from 75+ to 150+.

We are looking for a Saturday next May.

Do any of you have any other suggestions for where else to look? We've been to:
*Lombardi's on the Bay
*Three Village Inn
*Sunset Harbour
*West Sayville Country Club
*Westbury Manor
*Bayard Arboretum

Thank you for your help!

Re: Reception Hall Help

Unfortunately, I can't be of much help with a smaller venue (I needed a place that could hold up to 300), however, regarding the cash bar, I would try not to go that route. For a catering hall on long island, I think most people would be expecting an open bar. Of course, in the end, it's your decision, and if the open bar is something that you need to cut, people will just have to understand. Good luck planning!

The Milleridge Carriage House is for much smaller parties, but I'm not sure how many people they require or what their price range is. Maybe try that?

I believe the Watermill in Smithtown has a room for smaller parties

Westbury Manor does have a smaller room and holds 75 people max, not sure what the minimum is though and how flexible they are especially since you want a Saturday wedding, (they might want a bigger party since its a Saturday). You can always email them. As far as pricing goes not sure if they go down to $55. Sorry not much of a help, just try to email or contact them.

You are prob better off looking into restaurants instead of halls since you have so few ppl and want a Sat night.

Unless you do a Saturday afternoon, most places are going to have to high of a minimum but I would go look at the Swan Club. They have a smaller room that can fit a smaller party and the prices are not that bad. But your best chance of them lowering the minimums at places is to do a day wedding or Sunday. Good Luck!
