Well at my hall the average is 125/person, but you can find cheaper halls for about 90

Re: reception hall pricing
It really depends on so many factors. Time of day, what night of the week, time of year, menu choices,etc...
For a Sat night at my hall, you are looking at $130-$150 a plate (Incl tax and grat), again depending on what you add.

Re: reception hall pricing
It really depends on the month and the day of the wedding. Saturday night receptions are more expensive. I've attached the link to the price thread for 07. I hope this will help!!
I'm not sure what the average price for my hall is but I'm paying $115pp before tax and gratuity for a total upgraded cocktail hour on a Saturday night. 07 reception hall prices

Re: reception hall pricing
I don't know what your budget is, but I know I couldn't even think for one second of a $100 a person.... I am so happy with my place and I am paying half that!! but then again, i am getting married in February on a Saturdasy AFTERNoon.... time of day and month factors majorly into the cost. If you need ot know some places that won't break the bank, but are still nice, feel free to FM! If not, there are so many beautiful places, but can be expensice....Good luck with your planning!

We priced between $55 and $125. It all depends on day, time and location.

Re: reception hall pricing
September is actually high season, and some places I contacted didn't lower rates until mid-Decmeber or January.
I called about 40 places between NJ, CT and NY looking at Saturday nights only in September/October/November. Some were in the 70-90 range (before tax & tip), most were in the 100-140 range (before t&t), and some were 150+ - even 200+. I've heard the average price per plate with tax and tip is $125, and based on what I saw I'd say that's pretty accurate.

Re: reception hall pricing
We are doing an afternoon wedding and the difference in price was literally 1/2 at our hall. That what the deciding factor for us. I never imagined having an afternoon wedding, but the difference in price was unbelievable and the guarantee was considerably lower as well (from 200 in the room we wanted to 150).

Re: reception hall pricing
It all depends on the time of year and also how many guest you are having. I know the watermill gave us a discount b/c we had over 200 people.

Re: reception hall pricing
hmm, at MY hall I think that average is (lemme get the calculator)... I did the highest you would pay on the most expensive day (Saturday evening in the summer or early fall) by the cheapest (Thursday evening in January)... and I came out with $145-$150 as the average price per head for my hall
PHEW!! back to HS math, YIKES!!
