Reception Hall Question

Reception Hall Question

How many reception halls did you look at before you booked? And at how many halls did you actual schedule an appointment and meet with someone?

I have no clue about wedding planning. I'm stressing....

Re: Reception Hall Question

We looked at four different halls before we decided on ours. We had appointments with all of them. We went twice to our two top choices. Good luck!!!

Re: Reception Hall Question

I looked at a few for a wedding of a friend about 6 months before I needed to start looking for myself... so I had an idea of what I liked and didn't.

When I heard about HWC, saw their menu, read the reviews... I immediately made what would be my one and only rh visit for myself. I booked on the spot.

Thanks so much- you ladies are awesome!
I feel so lost with this stuff, I'm so nervous about all this planning!

By the way, I've heard AMAZING things about HWC!

Re: Reception Hall Question

I 'looked' at about 125 halls online, then I narrowed it down to about 20 halls that were within our price range, location and 'other' requirements. We visited 4 places (woodbury was the 4th) and booked Woodbury on the spot.

There is no need to stress. FH & I made appointments for 9 reception halls and saw all 9 of them before we actually booked our hall.

don't worry, most of us start off with no clue and become pro's (or close to it). I think I looked at around 10 halls before I booked. HTH

I also narrrowed it down online, but I visited between 20 and 30. Mine was the last one I saw.

ETA: We had appointments at all of them.

I want that to happen haha. But it won't, we don't really have any preference or dream location - which is totally fine with me because I LOVE that my fiance is helping with research and planning.

Looked at 4 halls, fell in love with the second one we looked at, but kept looking just in case

We had 6 appointments and only went to 4. We chose the 4th place.

We just agreed it would be beautiful for a fall wedding. We are in the Winter Garden Pavillon. I was in awe as we walked around the grounds and the rooms and the hotel.

Re: Reception Hall Question

heh, 1.5

we wanted our hall to be close to our church and home, so we visited one, and was turned off by how shiny and institutional it was.... and how rude and arrogant the employees were, so we left w/o even talking to a banquet manager. I count that as a 0.5

The other one we visited felt perfect, people were friendly, and frankly, the building was prettier....

that's where we're going

It took us two 30 min trip to find a hall, and 11 months and hundreds of hours online to find a limo..... go figure

Re: Reception Hall Question

We made 1 appointment and stopped by 4 places before I fell in love with our reception hall. We spent a whole Saturday looking around, but the night before I looked at websites and through Bridal Magazines to decide which ones we would go to since we were only on LI for the weekend.
