if you put your final count in, and less people show up, Are there any places that will give you the food, or credit the money? or should a final count be given with a lesser number? and how much less? if more people show up than the final count is that ok?

Re: Reception Hall question
If I have less than my guarantee I am going to asky my hall to throw in extras, call your hall because every hall is different.

Re: Reception Hall question
It really depends on the place. They usually always take a head count...whether or not they share the head count with you is a different story...the usually tell you when it's in their favor...but not yours!

Re: Reception Hall question
Our hall allowed us to cancell up until 3pm the day before. I think it would be difficult to give less numbers b/c you have to go over seating charts with them.

Re: Reception Hall question
When we gave our head count (a month before the wedding) the CM took a couple of people off just in case.
When we dropped off our seating charts (a week before), we had to give our final head count. Then we had until 3 days before the wedding to take people off.
Check with your place and see what their policy is. It should actually be on your contract.
If more people show up, they will charge you that day.

Re: Reception Hall question
The more you look at places, the more you will think of to ask. At first we just sat there, but once we started to learn the lingo and find out was included in packages of other places, we got better about questions.
Good luck looking

Re: Reception Hall question
THat's so true - check the websites for a bunch of vendors before you go out and geta feel for what others are offering in terms of menu and price. It will give you an idea of what's out there instead of traveling to all the places. It worked for me and it is GREAT to have an idea of what's going on.
