Reception Halls

FI and I want to get married March or April of 2006. How far in advance should we book a reception hall?

Re: Reception Halls

Now, especially if you want a Saturday night in peak season. I wanted to be engaged for less than a year and have a small guest list... most places wee booked next summer (has to be I'm a teacher) so I'm marrying on Monday, July 4th.

Best to look now. Some rooms might already be booked.

BTW, I think if you pick the last Saturday in March you still get the off-season rate with better weather. There is a difference in price between April and March at most places.

Re: Reception Halls

that's totally up to you.. you might want to start looking now.. i know a bunch of the 06 girls have already booked their places. some places get booked up years in advance while others you can luck out on and book 3 months in advance.

i dont think it'd be a bad idea to just start browsing places.. at least narrowing down what you want

Re: Reception Halls

Looking now wouldnt be such a bad idea.....considering its also still 04 and prices can be higher each year. As you can see, I am an 06 Bride who already booked.

It cant hurt to start now and at least that will be one thing out of the way!

Good Luck!

Re: Reception Halls

I got engaged 09/04 & we already booked for JULY 2006. FYI...dates are already booked. Our original date was 7/21/06 & we changed it to fit our hall.
We booked our hall & church in September. Just remember, a lot of people usually get engaged around the holidays & people will start booking for Spring/Summer '06 in January.

Plus...you get locked in on 2004 prices the sooner you book
