Reception Halls

Hello, this is my 1st time on the site. My fiance and I are looking for a reception hall that we can afford. We are paying for the entire wedding and cant afford to spend thousands on our reception. We would like to have it in Manhattan, Queens or somewhere in Nassau County. Im running into nothing but dead ends. Please Help

Im looking for somewhere I can bring food into, and that my family and friends can decorate . Doesnt have to have crystal chandeliers and marble floors but just want something simple and nice.

No more 100 ppl, May 12th which is a Saturday, but it can be moved to the day before. I would rather not do it on a Sunday. Kind of like the idea of having my small private ceremony Friday afternoon then having my recep Friday night.

Welcome & Congrats!!!!

FH & I are paying for the entire shabang so I feel your pain!

There is a RH thread on here that I can try and bump for you.

My thought is unless you have a large budget, NYC is not even a consideration. But there are great places in Queens and Nassau..tons actually.

The ladies on here are super helpful and we all love helping other girls find there RH's...it's kind of the best part

when are you getting married? the fall and winter or usually cheaper. How big of a wedding are you having and what kind of place would you like? floral terrace is nice, and of course jericho terrace(i am getting married there). Manhattan might run a little pricy. there are a few places in queens like terrace on the park, and cafe on the green. then you always have russo's on the bay. if you want are looking for a low key wedding there is bruno's in astoria or roma view in howard beach.

Re: Reception Halls

Have you looked at the Stewart Manor Country Club. My FH and I are also paying for everything ourselves and are on a small budget. It's a great place... simple and nice... sounds what you might be looking for. No gaudy marbel walls and chandeliers. Rustic and homey.... I got an amazing deal. Feel free to FM me for more info. It is in Nassau County, between Garden City and Franklin Square.

We are getting married on a Saturday afternoon in February (which defintiely help us keep costs down with the hall as well as other vendors. I am the budget queen, it is possible to have a nice wedding on LI without spending thousands, you just have to know where to look and not get sucked into much of the hype that accompanies weddings in this area. it is possible!

Re: Reception Halls

Hi and Thanks, I was looking for a cheap place basically. A place where I can bring in my own food, a dj and luckily most places supply bartenders. I think I've found a place. It's an American Legion Hall in Flushing. They only want $450 for a room that fits 150. I'm going to look at it today after work

I'm getting married at Tall Grass, it is very affordable and janet, the manager, is a doll. I know you are looking to western LI, have you looked into Trattoria dopo teatro?

WWW. dopoteatro.com

I looked into them before I went with Tall Grass, the were reasonably priced, but I don't know how much prices have changed from a year ago.

Re: Reception Halls

Im looking to get married in Oct. 2007. We are also paying for this all by ourselves and looking for a less expensive place. Manor East in massapequa is nice and in Oct. it is $55pp on Friday $58 on Sat. They also offer a package that includes, the hall, food and DJ for 100 people $9600 for all. That includes tax and service charges. Not a bad price.

Stuart Thomas Manor in Farmingdale offers an ALL Inclusive for $9995 for 100 people.

Brentwood Country Club also offers an All Inclusive, that costs $11995 on a Friday night.

Re: Reception Halls

you also might want to llook into some of the halls mentioned before you book a place where you have to bring food into.

FH and I were going to book the Irish American Center in Mineola, but by the time we figured otu the cost of renting all the silverware, linens, plates, etc. etc. Hiring a bartender, paying for all the food, decorating, etc. etc. it wound up being just a little more expensive to book a hall that will do all of that for us.... plus, it's a lot less aggravation. there are sooo many details you have to worry about if you're bringing in all the food, etc. etc.
