Reception Halls

Hello 09 Brides!

I'm kind of new to LIWeddings and have been reading some chat boards and I've been hooked and just HAD to join!

I have gone to visit 4 locations so far, Coral House Caterers, Chateau Briand, Floral Terrace, and Villa Lombardi. So far I really like Chateau Briand, but we haven't gone back yet for a tasting. Because I was so impressed with CB, I'm not sure whether or not I should keep looking at other places to see what they have to offer or just go back to CB for a 2nd visit. I usually set one day aside during the week for any wedding planning so I don't want to keep using that day to look at other sites that I'm probably not going to consider. What do you all think? Please advise!!!

Re: Reception Halls

I think if when u walked into Chateau u loved it loved it loved it and all you wnat is to have your reception there, then book it. Otherwise take a look at other places. I recommend highly the Fox Hollow and Westbury Manor. All Scotto Bros as well. GOOD LUCK & WELCOME TO THE BOARDS!

I saw keep looking just to make sure until you got the 'I know this is the one' feeling

Re: Reception Halls

I think I got the feeling. I love the entrance, the ball room, the size of the room for the bridal party (because I'm having a big bridal party) and the separate room for the bride and groom. I'm just so undecided, but i just want to book a hall already!

Check out Venetian Yacht Club - I know that I am biased because Im booked there - but I really felt that out of all the places that I checked out it was the only place that really paid attention to detail and took the time to spend with me - and the prices were so unbelievably reasonable! - Definately cannot discount the views of the Great South Bay

and here is their new commercial - ahhhmazing :)

Def. check out North Ritz Club too..its only one wedding at a time. The place is GORGEOUS!!! The food is amazing and the people have been a pleasure to work with.
Check reviews of past brides, they have nothing but great things to say
check it out!

Re: Reception Halls

I went to go look at well over 10 halls, I can't even remember how many I looked at. I originally wanted one by the water but I just wasn't getting 'that feeling'..so I kept looking. Last weekend I went to go see Jericho Terrace and Leonards...still no feeling, but I wasn't 100% happy with the room that JT showed me. This weekend I had plans to go back to JT to see another room and I had an appt for Villa Lombardis and Atlantica. Once I walked in the room at JT, I booked. I have no interest in seeing any place else..I never thought this day would come..I feel like I've been looking at halls forever!! So my point is, if you got that feeling and you can really picture your wedding there..then go for it..if you arent sure then keep looking!

I also say keep looking at the ones you narrowed it down to. If none of the other places compare to Chateau Briand then definitely book them.

welcome!

i would look at the other places you mentioned and maybe a few more (swan club was a good deal and gorgeous) and go with what feels right be it CB or another place that wows you

Re: Reception Halls

welcome! Go with your gut and what makes you go 'wow' If you havent gotten that feeling yet then keep on looking. If you are not sure, then go back and see it one more time. I visited about 5 halls before I got that feeling. I even sat down and did a pros and cons list to make sure.

I booked the CB so if you have any questions, feel free to FM me

Re: Reception Halls

Congrats!!!

We saw 3 halls, Fox Hollow, Westbury Manor and The Thatched Cottage. Fox Hollow was the first one we saw, and it was the only one we could imagine our wedding in. We just had this feeling that this was it and nothing could compare in our opinion. If you know its the RH you want I say book it!

Re: Reception Halls

We looked at probably 8 or 9 halls before booking. Chateau Briand was our 3rd and we absolutely love it. I love the ambiance CB has (of course I'm a little biased). My advice would to check out some other reception halls that you are interested in... and if you don't get that feeling that you get from CB then you know your answer. Good Luck!!

Re: Reception Halls

I have been to may weddings at CB and they really have great service. I would say if you got the WOW feeling from there then go back for a second visit if you feel the same way then book it. I checked out several halls and once I walked into Russo's to me nothing compared.

Sometimes ya just know ...ya know

good luck with your decision and keep us posted.

Re: Reception Halls

Welcome and congrats! If you felt Chateau Briand was the right place for you then you should book it. When we walked into Villa Lombardi's we knew it was the place for us and we booked on the spot. Good luck with whatever you decide!

Re: Reception Halls

I LOVE Villa Lombardis!!!!!!!!! I would also reccomend Watermill. I believe it's the same owners as VL. Also, I reccomend Westbury Manor- I loved it there. I went to a party there recently which was super nice. And, last but not least- North Ritz Club- my RH. I think it's such an amazing place and everytime I know someone who has been to a wedding there- they always RAVE about the food. Good luck.
