Hey!! My friend just got engaged and wants to find a place somewhere in Nassau. She lives in Brooklyn and does not want too long of a travel time. Anybody have any ideas? TIA!!

So glad to hear that- I keep only hearing good things about Jerico Terrace. You should tell your friend to check it out- they give you SO much for your money!

Re: Reception halls
I think we need to know how much pp does she want to spend. There are different price ranges for venues on here.
I would recommend the Royalton hands down..One event at a time, personalized menu from cocktail hour to reception, bridal suite where you can spend your wedding night, beautiful gardens for ceremony, indoor-outdoor cocktail hour.
It is also one of the closer ones to Brooklyn. Located in Roslyn, right off the Long Island Expressway.

Re: Reception halls
all my family and friends are from brooklyn (i'm even further out in jersey) and we booked the Sand Castle. they are becoming a one event place for 2009 so they are a bit pricey BUT i absolutely loved it, they offer SO much for your money, AND its practically right off the belt.

What is the # of people she is planning to have? The Metropolitan holds only one affair at a time and we booked it!

Re: Reception halls
it's really difficult to give someone RH ideas because we don't know the style they are going for. maybe someone wants an RH on the water or somewhere modern, or somewhere classic. However, there are many halls that are well known that she should check out--jericho terrace, floral terrace, westbury manor, crest hollow to name a few. personally, i love the inn at new hyde park..its a newly rennovated venue that is very old world looking, tell her to check it out.

Re: Reception halls
We attended weddings at the Floral terrace and Fox Hollow. Both were great!
