Reception Halls

Hey everyone. I posted on here awhile ago when I knew FH was going to propose. Well, he proposed the other night :) :) Sooo happy.

We know we want to get married this summer, so we really have to get a venue QUICKLY!! I want something on the water. We are going next week to look at the following:

Thatched Cottage
Venetian Yacht Club
Chateau La Mer
Harbor Club

Anyone getting married there or been there? Opinions?

I also want to look at the following and would LOVE some opinions!!!

Lombardi's on the Sound
Land's End
West Sayville Country Club
The Pavillion at sunken meadow
Windows on the Lake
Swan Club
Flowerfield
Bridgeview
Giando's
Danford's
Surf Club
VIP
Glen Island Harbor Club
Marina Del Rey

Ideally, I would love to pay $110 pp or less. Many places I called so far from 70-90, so I was happy. We also are planning 150-200 maybe more.

THANKS!!!

I recommend Swan Club- that was one of our choices if we were goingto have it in Long Island

I've been to the Swan Club a number of times and the grounds are just beautiful. It should be especially lovely in the summer.

ITA that is why I booked with them.

Another reason I booked with them was because I wanted to feel like we were secluded.....I didn't want to be near busy streets or where a lot of businesses were. Also, their prices are very reasonable....

My e-party is going to be at the Swan Club. I totally love it there. Beautiful grounds, great atmosphere, and very easy to work with. They are also pretty reasonable.

i was just going to suggest this as well. My cousin had her wedding there in 2006. The place is beautiful and food/service was great.

Re: Reception Halls

Ideally, I would love for the $110 to include tax and tip, but I know that won't be easy. Still, I'm finding a lot of places I'm interested in between 70-100, some including tip/tax!

Thanks girls.

I'm going to see Harbor Club, Venetian Yacht Club, Chateau La Mer, and Bridgeview, and GIando's this weekend!

Next weekend: Lombardi's on the Sound, Pavillion, West Sayville CC, and Swan Club.

Sooo many beautiful places to chose from!

congratssss!! i went to VIP to love for my wedding an di love it there!! the layout was perfect, beautiful decor, we ended up choosing Russo's over VIP mostly because of location...... i checked out Giando's for my shower and honestly i wasnt into it too much, the views were INCREDIBLE i have to say, and the ballroom downstairs was in much better shape than the rest of the place

Re: Reception Halls

congrats!!

well i am biased but i highly recommend marina del rey....we have over 200 so we have the room overlooking the water....it is beautiful and for a friday def within your price range.

i was stuck between MDR and Surf club....my sister had her wedding at surf club and it was awesome! but i didnt like that we had to use one of 3 florists.

VIP was nice but one room was too big for us and the other was too small and i wanted to be closed to the water.

Glen Island I absolutely LOVED and if money wasnt as issue we would have booked there....but it was around 120 pp ++ for a friday

good luck!!

do you have any other preferences (i.e., high cielings)? i ask b/c harbor club has low cielings. and CLM has half high/half low cielings.

not sure if that makes a difference, but i wanted to give you a heads up
