Re: reception halls
The only thing I can suggest is do searches on each place and see what you come up with. They are all popular places on there. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats

Re: reception halls
I have visited about twenty halls on LI so far, I loved East wind, the grounds are beautiful. They give you a great cocktail hour, and the price is very good. I really liked the Estate at East wind. It is by itself and has a really big room for cocktail hour. Its just a little far for me that's why I didn't pick it.
Lands End is beautiful and my favorite of all halls. Its on the water the food is great, and wait to you see the balcony in the bridal sweet. My cousin had her wedding their last year. Its just way to expensive for me.
FLowerfield is also beautiful, this place is not on the water but, is on a nice lake. The cocktail room is very unique and has a man made pond with fish in it, right in the middle of the room. This place is the same price as Lands End. If your going to spend the money I would go for Lands End.
I don't know were you live but, I can tell you other nice places in Suffolk that you might want to check out. How many people are you having?

Re: reception halls
My favorites would be Thatched Cottage Flowerfields Milleridge Cottage and East Wind Some of those are also the most expensive.. I also liked Lands End
I wasn't fond of Riveria, Chateu La Mer or John Anthony's or north Ritz club , BUT that was my personal taste which means a lot...people choose these places for many reasons.
What time of year are you looking for, how many people and what day of the week? Any particular style you like more then another? Does one wedding at a time make a difference..that all helps narrow it down...And money..these places vary a LOT in terms of cost...do you have aprice range?

Re: reception halls
What are you looking for? We picked Milleridge because it's one wedding at a time, the Cottage has a non-wedding hall feel to it, the atrium for the ceremony is incredible, amazing reputation, longevity of business and finally, money. We really love it there but that doesn't mean it's right for everyone. What kind of feel do you want for your wedding day?

Re: reception halls
After looking at 19 halls on long island (well 3 in westchester) we narrowed it down to Lands end and Flowerfield...
Nothing compared in our eyes to either of them... Lands end is beautiful but for us we felt that FLowerfields was everything lands end was just picked up the things we felt lands end was missing...And we felt and luckily my parents felt they were well worth the expense!
Mind you we are the pickiest people in the world.
But the truth is you really need to see everywhere. All the places we saw were great they just didnt fit who we are. You can ask opinions which helped me so much but you really need to see for yourself. See as many places as you can. And this is coming from someone who planning a wedding in 10 months and lives all the way up in Buffalo!
No one can be the eyes for you.

Re: reception halls
I went to a wedding at John ANthony's this weekend and it was absolutely great...one negative...we were in the upstairs room, but the bathrooms were downstairs so we had to crawl up and down the stairs every time and after a couple of drinks it became more and more difficult.

Re: reception halls
I LOVED the Tatched Cottage. Probably the best wedding I have ever been to! I have heard great things about flowerfield and it looks beautiful but I think its a little more pricey then the others listed North Ritz Club I havent heard anything bad about, it looks gorgeous, I actually wanted to go look there but FH wasnt crazy about the place.
