Reception Halls..the good, the bad, and the ugly???

Hi everyone! My brother and his wife told me to write on this because the brides are very helpful...soooo...

Can anyone give me places on that they suggest for the reception? The Church is in Ronkonkoma..and we are looking at about 175 people...that is all i know. haha. I'm just starting to plan, and I wanted to get some suggestions. Make sure you tell me the places NOT to go, thanks girls! (*and guys). Best of luck to all of you!

Villa Lombardis throws a great wedding, but it really depends on what you & FH want. DO you want to be on the water? Scenic trees? uber fancy ball room... Once I know more I'll be able to give better advice, a great & accurate site, I found helpful during planning was weddingsites&services.com

OK sorry for not giving enough info..haha. OK so we do love the water a lot (since we were both lifeguards). But we do like the fancy ballroom type also. I'm not much help am i?

It's funny...we didn't like Watermill because the room was too small and there is a creepy guy that works there that I do not like..haha.

And Villa Lombardi's...I have been there so many times...I'm kinda tired of it. I wanted something different.

Anyway...budget wise..about $90-115 pp would be fabulous. :) Keeping it around $100 would be nice too. I dunno....I'm clueless...HELP. haha.

What about Lombardis on the sound? It is right on the water. Also the Miller Place Inn is really nice and quant.

I have been looking around also and am from the area. I ended up booking in Nassau County but there are a lot of great deals out in Suffolk. If you want to be on the water and can't affordmuch try something during the winter when prices are cut.

Hope this helps!

I live in Ronkonkoma! If you are at St. Joseph's then you are very close to Windows on the Lake and it's beautiful!! It's about 1/4 mile away from that church!

Yes I am getting married at St. Joseph's In Ronkonkoma! I live in Lake Grove, about 10 mins from there.

Does anyone have any places NOT to go look at because of horrible food, service, etc??

Also, does anyone know any prices for July 08' on a Friday night?

Just throwing some new topicz out there...thanks again ladies!

chrissywish posted the link for '08 quotes...which is helpful to get an idea...

you can also do a search on brides review for what people say about the reception halls or just a general search on the forum.

your best bet is to visit the places and get the feel of the place yourself cuz everyone has different likes and dislikes.

hope that helps a little!
