Reception Help!

We have recently gotten engaged and already started looking at places. So far we have looked at two and out of them I like only one ( The Madison Hotel in NJ). I live in Brooklyn and know of only very few places where one can hold a wedding (both the ceremony and the reception) Help! If anyone can suggest some nice places?? I am on a budget though (aren't we all)
:(

I'm not sure if you want to stay in Brooklyn or not, but the 3 West Club is very reasonable. It's $120 pp and $60 for kids, but 100 guests min. Plus they have ceremony on site. There's also the Alger house Manhattan. It's a little cheaper than 3 West Club and also have ceremony on site. I only researched on Long Island and Manhattan. Hope this helps. You can FM me if you're interested.

In Brooklyn, The grand prospect hall is beautiful, but there are 3 weddings at a time, and it isn't cheap. YOu might want to look into the field house in Prospect Park. I never checked it out, but heard great things and saw beautiful pictures.

In LI I looked at:
The Swan Club -- 2 or 3 weddings at a time
Chateau La Mer -- 2 at a time
Thatched Cottage -- 1 at a time
Bridgeview Yacht Club -- 1 at a time
Riviera -- 1 at a time
All of those were in about the same price range, with a 10-15 per person difference. All were beautiful and on a body of water.
In a higher price range, and on the beach are Lands End and The Cresent beach club. They are magnificent!

I don't know if you want to do Jersey - but The Graycliff in Moonachie is nice & the price is pretty good!

Re: Reception Help!

I wanted to get married in the city since that is where the FH an I live but the best value was on LI for me and still reasonably close for my friends and family in the city. We booked the Metropolitan in Glen Cove for a Friday night and the prices were very reasonable. The tasting was very good as well

I hear Bubby's in Brookyln is as cheap as $50 per person but I have heard mixed reviews about the food

Re: Reception Help!

Are you willing to come to Long Island?

I would check out

Milleridge Cottage (obv)
Leonard's
Crest Hollow
Fox Hollow
Chataeu La Mer
Chataeu Briand

There is also this link, with lots of reception hall price quotes. It takes awhile to go through it, but I'm sure it will help you a lot!!

Re: Reception Help!

I'm having mine at The Floral Terrace in Floral Park. That's on the border of Queens and Long Island and very easy to get to. They gave an awesome price and they have a huge room for the ceremony. It's 4 floors and you have the entire place to yourself, one wedding at a time.
Good Luck!
