Hello everyone! I am having major trouble deciding this one....
FH's parents are divorced. His dad has a significant other (not married) and his mom is not with anyone.
Is there anyone out there with a similar situation? How are you going to introduce them at the reception?
Father and mother together without significant others?
Father with his GF and mother by herself?
Any idea of what others have done would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Re: Reception Introductions???
I didn't have ths situation, but it's your wedding. You choose how you want them introduced and if you want the GF involved. Ask your parents what they feel comfortable with. Good luck!

Re: Reception Introductions???
Any family who can escort mom ....i.e. nephew, son, family friend? At my cousin's wedding, my aunt walked in with her nephew. Just an idea...

Re: Reception Introductions???
I am having my best friend who is one of the Groomsmen escort my mom. Then I am having each member of the BP introduced alone. Do you have a close friend or family member that can escort mom? And then you can have your dad and his GF introduced together

I am not in this situation but my MOH is. She is introducing her mom and stepdad together and her dad and stepmom together. I hope that helps.

Re: Reception Introductions???
Since it is your wedding, you can do it however you want, so long as FILs are adult enough to handle your decision. So, if you want his parents to come in together, and they are don't hate each other's guts to the point of not being able to be civil to one another, then by all means have them walk in together.

Re: Reception Introductions???
If the parents get along and they arent uncomfortable, I would have the parents walk in together. It is there son's wedding, not the father and g/f. However, if they cant get along then maybe have a nephew or uncle walk in with the mom and the father with his g/f. But remember, it is your wedding, do what makes you and FH happy.

Re: Reception Introductions???
I made my parents suck it up and they were just introduced together.
DH's aunt had your problem [sort of]
her parents are divorced and the mom is remarried.
at the time of her wedding her father had a very steady GF.
the mom was introduced and walked in with her hubby [but he was NOT introduced]
the dad was introduced and walked in with his GF [but she was NOT introduced]
i know this b/c i watched their video under force one afternoon. but it might help you.
as for ME...both my parents are single now and i had them enter together and announced together [they only used their first names anyway...so it was less of an issue]

Re: Reception Introductions???
I am having a serious issue with this as well. My mother is remarried. My father is no longer with us and my stepmom is in another relationship. I will have to introduce them...the question is how?

Re: Reception Introductions???
Due to our family situations, both divorced and very sticky, we decided not to introduce our parents at all. My parents had a bitter divorce, remarried before I turned five, and my stepmother and father raised me. I call both my biological mother and my step-mother mom. This of course, kills my biological mother and often leads to arguments. And that's just my side, his is even more complicated and hurtful. I had to make my family swear that they would behave on our day with threats of having them escorted out the door if any nonsense was started.

I am in a very similar situation. WAAAAY too sticky to even come up with a solution for intros. So we are skipping it. I'm hoping no one will notice or care. I will be having the same 'behave yourselves or else' conversation with my mother and father very shortly!
I am really dreading the rehearsal dinner b/c at least at the wedding, they won't even have to talk to each other. But we are only have about 20 people at the RD. They haven't been that close in proximity in 10 years - and I don't remember that going very well!
