I'm hearing a lot recently about not having the 'standard' intros @ the reception. This is something I think we would definetely be interested in doing differently. I want to have everyone announced but I do not want to walk through that little arch thing--how would we accomplish this? Just walk in like normal and just not go under the bridal party? Have them just stand amongst the crowd and then we go into our first dance?
If anyone has done it this way-please offer some suggestions! Thank you!

Re: Reception Introductions
We're not doing the arch either. I just want the bridal party to be announced and make a semi circle around the dance floor, then we'll come in and dance.

Re: Reception Introductions
We didn't have the arch. As our parents and bridal party came out they stood on the edge of the dance floor...then we came out and our first dance started. I liked it better than the arch.

Re: Reception Introductions
we are thinking of doing the following. everyone at the reception (including bridal party and parents). we are announced as the happy couple, sandy and ben (no last names). then we get the microphone and introduce/thank our parents and bridal party (only a moh and bm). less formal but much more personal in my opinion.

Good idea Sandy!! I was wondering how to do this simply and casually!
