Reception Location Help!!!

HELP please!!! My fiance and I are having trouble finding the perfect place for our Ceremony and Reception (all at the same place). I am very interested in the Watermill in Smithtown. I've passed it a number of times and always thought it was beautiful. We are also interested in Bridgeview Yacht Club, Riviera, Carlyle on the Green, Hempstead Country Club (we have a member who can sponsor us), the Hamlet Wind WAtch Country Club... Anyone who has been there PLEASE give your opinion!!!! We would definitely prefer to base our decisions on our opinion and word of mouth! Thanks!

Re: Reception Location Help!!!

those are alll verrrrry different price ranges!! My advice would be to figure out a price pp you want to spend and call each place and ask before you go look at it. You dont' want to fall in love with a place that you just can't afford.

FM me if you have any questions - i saw most of those places and can probably tell you some prices.

I am getting married at the Riviera, and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about them so far! FM me if you have specific questions!
We are having the ceremony and reception both there, and their outdoor ceremony area and CH area are AMAZING! The inside is rustic and beautiful. And the price isn't too bad for LI!

Re: Reception Location Help!!!

How about the Hempstead Country Club??? We have a way of getting in and are setting up a meeting this Wednesday. Has anyone been there? We did view Garden City CC, and my family has been there before for other parties, but we just didn't like it as much, a little too stuffy for our taste. We do have a meeting tomorrow night at Bridgeview Yacht Club, we've had parties there as well.

My fiance and I had a lot of problems trying to find the perfect place and we found it at the Old Field Club in East Setauket. We loved it there and it has a very different feeling than a typical catering hall. If you don't have over 150 people I would recommend checking there. They are extremely accommodating and flexible! It's a hidden gem!

We are having our reception at Bridgeview and think it's great. Kathy was great w/ us and the room pretty much sells itself I think.

One more place you may want to look at is Thatched Cottage in Centerport. I am having my ceremony and reception there. Beautiful outdoor and indoor ceremony locations. Congratulations and Good Luck!!!

I'm getting married at the Watermill on labor day weekend, I def.fell in love with the place and the staff has been so helpful. The dates you want may be booked already as I booked in June for my Sept. date and the Sunday date of 9/5 was already taken. You can check back with me after 9/4 for more details! Good Luck
