My FN's new idea for our wedding is to have a reception on a boat. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can go about doing this? I live in suffolk county and I am on a strict budget. Any ideas would be appreciated!

I know there is one that you can take in the city. I have no idea how much it costs, though. I also took a cruise for an end of the year (teacher) party...it set sail from Bayshore...but you could probably only fit 50-60 people on it. We had a dj and there was a bar, too. If you're interested, I can look into the name of the boat. It wasn't fancy or anything, though.

Try this site...It doesnt have prices, but there are boats that sail out of long island and nyc.

Do you have any elderly &/or handicapped? I thought about it, but that was the reason I chose not to.

my friend got married on a boat in freeport at the nautical mile. it was really nice, my only thing is that you have to go up and down very steep stairs a lot. i can't imagine doing that in a wedding dress, but if you keep it in mind... for you and for any elderly people etc., and you still think it'll be ok then do it.

My mother did this for her 2nd marriage and it was alot of fun and so different.
