reception on water

we would really like to have our reception on the water. outside cocktail hour, inside reception. i am worried about rain (never know). want to find a place that is beautiful inside and out (for cocktail hour). does anyone have any suggestions? we want to select a location that is convenient for guests as well, hamptons/montauk somewhat of a hike. we were considering cresent beach club, heard great things about it, but never visited. is it a little hectic w/ restaurant at same location? we also want a location that has only 1 event at a time. any suggestions is greatly appreciated!

We don't sweat the small stuff, everything happens for a reason. I'd love to hear from other brides and grooms who are having the time of their lives.

We looked at number of locations that fit your discription and found they book up very fast in prime months. Here are a few you may want to check on: Lands End, John Antonhy's, Louis XVI, Thatched Cottage. Good Luck and Happy Planning

Captain Bills in bay shore
I am having the rehearsal dinner there but great room for reception, a must See

We are using Marcy Braun at Carlson Wagonlit Travel in Huntington. She is really nice and seems to know her stuff. Her number is 631-421-4600.

Kel, we felt the same way only we went to look at Chateu La Mere and the Riveria in Massapequa and they were horrible!!! Chateu La Mere was very run down and the Riveria was just unprofessional and I have heard not so very good things about them recently! We are getting married at John Anthony's also in Sept. 2001!!!What's your date? We are the 21st!!!
I'd love to see them! If you don't want to post them here, you can email me @ [email protected]

thanks for the feedback!

please let me know your thoughts on the place (you both love it, obviously beacuse you booked) we really want a location on the water. did you look at crescent beach club? and how do they compare? we viewed the site for lands end (looks beautiful), but a limited # of photos were available. can you choose to have cocktail outside (weather permitting). 1 thing that struck me was the really high ceilings in the reception room, how was the room when you saw it. any feedback would be great. we are planning a 2002 summer wedding. i am getting nervous beacuse i think everything will be gone by the time we decide. we are flexible w/ date (late spring - early fall and friday night is an option). thanks in advance!

Dani,

We basically wanted the same things as you. We booked John Anthony's even though they will book more than just one wedding. They stagger the events by a half-hour and have earned a great reputation from everyone I have talked to.

Kathy,

I'm sure you will love it at John Anthony's. They are very helpful from the time you walk in the door.

Kel -

Thanks for your response! We want Sunday afternoon, Sept. 30th and we're having about 100 guests. I don't have the name of who I'm meeting with Wednesday - I left my book at the office for the weekend! When is your date? Any negotiating tips? Thanks!

John Anthony's Sept. 2001

We're hoping for Sunday, Sept. 30, 2001! I've heard great things about John Anthony's but they might be out of our price range...can you give me a general idea of their Fall prices? I'm going to see it next Wednesday! Any help would be appreciated! We won't even consider Chateau La Mer since I went to a terrible wedding there and had a lousy dinner there, too. It does seem 'run down'.
We thought we had a place -The Rain Spa-- but then I found out they dont do hair and makeup

Andrea... from PMHS it's Megan...was that you who wrote about the Bayview? I know you are having your wedding there. Obviously if I am on this site I must be engaged. Pete and I were engaged right before Christmas. Beth and I will both be Bachmores. If this is not the right Andrea, sorry

i could tell you that having an interfaith ceremony with them providing 2 clergy (a minister and a rabbi in my case) costs $1150

He doesn't have set price packages. He works with you based on what your needs are.
