Hi everyone. I am new to this board and I need a little help.
I am trying to have my dream wedding on a not so dream budget. We would have about 100 - 125 people. My extended family is big so a wedding with less than 100 is not doable unless i tell some people they cant come and that just wont work. His famly is small (thank god) since most live out of the country and would not be able to afford to come for the wedding.
So my question is does anyone know of anywere that will work with under $60 a head if it includes some sort of alchol? We DONT want a Saturday night wedding. Friday would actually be better and we would consider a Sunday afternoon since we are not heavy drinkers.
Time of the year does not matter either since 'off-season is always cheaper.
I looked at the Swan club already but my cousin is getting married there next year so we are not sure if we want to use them.
Any help is great

You should definitely look into Leonard's of Great Neck...if you don't get a lot of the extras but keep the alcohol, it'll probably be around that amount.

Re: Reception Place Ideas
if you dont mind having a sunday afternoon you can get A LOT more for your money. also december-march is generally cheaper because its the off-season. we paid less money per person b/c we are getting married on a friday night in december.
good luck!

Re: Reception Place Ideas
doing a friday night will def save you some money- and its still a great time to do a wedding!
Go pick up a magazine that is a Long Island edition- they have ones that list practically every venue and the price range.
Try looking into the coral house. I hear they have excellent prices and it includes as much as most other places. When we were looking for a place, they all told us that the best prices are in February and january. Im not sure if this is true for all places though.

Re: Reception Place Ideas
Welcome and congrats.
A sunday afternoon in Nov.-March you will save you a ton of money and give you more options then you think.
If you like the Swan Club then go for it. My cousin got married at our RH this past June. We weren't going to consider it because of that reason, but they had everything that we needed for a price we could afford so we did it. My family is so excited to go back there and my cousin and his wife are so happy to be able to go back and just enjoy it!
Good Luck!

Re: Reception Place Ideas
Verdi's in Westbury on a Saturday night during high season is about $61 a head, so you deifnitely should give them a call. The room that I saw was the first one of the left and the room was just renovated and it was really nice. I also did a taste testing and the food was good.
Good Luck in your decision making.

Verdi's in Westbury is good and the one in Whitestone is even cheaper. Westbury is prettier, but IMO the food at whitestone is better.

I second that. My friend got married there on a Friday night for $55 per head.

Re: Reception Place Ideas
i am going to bump my review for you... . go under the bride's review and it should be close to the top, depending on the activity on the baord.
PLEASE look at Stewart Manor Country CLub... i LOVED them. I paid $57.00 a head (with an extra hour, orignially it was $52.00 a head) for a Saturday afternoon. It included a full cocktail hour, choice of 3 entrees, salad, soup, dessert (in addition to wedding cake) and open bar all day.
