Reception place ?'s....

Reception place ?'s....

Hey all...I just got engaged this week and we are shooting for a June 07 or Feb 08 wedding date. Unfortunately my fiancee refuses to believe me when I tell him almost all of the June 07 dates are booked. So here is the help that I need: I need your opinions/experiences at the following places: Douglaston Manor (which was recently renovated and seems beautiful), Westbury Manor, and Coral House. How is the food? How is the service?

Thanks!! I appreciate all the help I can get

First of all welcome and congrats on your engagement!!!!!
It's true the halls book up so early!!
As far as those three places, I can comment the most on Coral House- I've been there for weddings and I really like it! The ballroom there is really beautiful and their food is very good.
I've never been to Westbury Manor but I've heard it's great!
I looked at Douglaston Manor and it seemed like a pretty nice place but when I went there, the renovations weren't finished so that made me nervous, and when I spoke to them, they didn't offer very much for the price they were charging compared to some of the other places I looked at.
Good luck with your search!!

C-O-N-G-R-A-T-S!!! I've only been to Westbury Manor (of your choices) and it's great.....but it does book quickly....it's really popular. I'm sure if you look around, you can definitely find some places that are still open for June. But, if you fall in love with a place, and they're booked, you might find you'd rather wait until 08 GOOD LUCK!!

I looked at Doug. Manor and Coral House. The food at Coral House was GREAT and the prices were pretty good as well. They have really cute rooms.
Douglst Manor food was okay too, but less variety that Coral House. The outside Golf lawn is really pretty if you are going to have an outdoor cocktail hour.
Good luck!

Also, if anyone has any other suggestions for places that wouldn't be too far out on the island, but are pretty and reasonably priced, I would appreciate it. I know all about westchester wedding venues..but nothin about LI..and i cant afford westchester ;)
